Actually fibroids when large enough can press down bowels and even the upper bowels. They are usually first circular masses that occupy a great deal of volume in the abdomen. It can even make a woman feel pregnant and distended abdomen. Huge fibroids can cause constipation or bowel obstruction. If this becomes the case, then it might require surgical removal.
