Is It Advisable To Take Sertraline For Insomnia And Depression?
Question: I am having problems with insomnia in a very stressful period, following the death of my mother-in-law. I have neck pain and the doctor has prescribed zopiclone to help me sleep (short course of 7 days). I am considering taking sertraline proactively so that I don't relapse into depression/anxiety (which I suffered from - postnatal depression and which tends to recur during times of stress). Is it safe to take sertraline at the same time? If not what could I take short term to help sleep?

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes I will look at reducing stress - but a lot has been out of my control. My mother-in-law was ill with cancer for two years, and my husband has been away looking after her. I meanwhile have been looking after our two kids, one of whom has autism. Not easy! Once my neck pain settles down I hope to do yoga again, also prayer which helps.
