Question: Is intermittent lymph node swelling common in chronic hiv? I’ve not been diagnosed.. I’ve had 4 negative tests within the past 15 years post possible exposure. My lymph nodes just keep going up and down. I’m afraid my tests were wrong

So after a period of 15 years and that too with 4 negative test results , i dont see any reason that you have HIV infection.
The reason for lymph node enlargement can be many depending upon the location of node and size. Mostly it is due to acute infection of the adjoining area or sometime chronic infection like tuberculosis, You need a clinical examination followed by needle test of the node to reach to a diagnosis.

I’ve read that there have been a few cases of seronegative infection. I’ve had so many tests from my doctor and even an infectious disease doctor. All normal. The only thing that came back was inactive EBV.

Hello dear. The chances of seronegative infection are very remote and for that also there should be some reason to suspect it. Just on the basis of node enlargement, one cannot diagnose HIV infection.
If the node is more than 1 cm in size, then i will advise a needle test for it. Otherwise , there is nothing to worry.
