Is Genital Rubbing A Cause For Concern In A 4 Year Old Child?

Question: My 4 year old daughter was lying in bed with me and tried to grab my hand to rub her genitals with it (i am her mother). Is this normal?

She might be having itching due to infection.

I think she might have been trying to masturbate. Maybe she was just exploring? Nothing to worry about i presume?

4 year old girl doesn't have pubertal changes and as such there is no desire for masturbation.

Sometimes, due to wetnes of skin, itching and infection can occur.

If she do this continuously then you have to get her examined by a doctor for skin infection.

I can assure you that this is not an act of masturbation.
