Brief Answer:
Safe to travel by air, she can wear DVT stockings

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Having a dialysis channel in the neck is not a problem when flying. However please make sure to inform the airline in advance so that you get assistance when travelling as such a patient requires extra care during travel. Please carry relevant documents that will help you get through security checks without any problems.

The flight duration from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX is about 2 hours 25 minutes which is a short time. As s general precaution you can tell her to wear DVT stockings during her travel to prevent blood from clotting in her leg veins.

There is no direct flight to Vellore, you might have to travel to XXXXXXX and then from there to Vellore by taxi.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
It can take 10 to 15 days of stay

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

The medical college hospital in Vellore is a specialist medical centre and they will recommend admission if felt as an emergency. That will be known only after primary assessment of the patient and after going through patient documents in detail.

In your sisters case the kidney biopsy r+++++++++++eport is important. Big tests like kidney biopsy may not be repeated but smaller tests like kidney function may be done again to know the exact patient condition. In Vellore they will not ask tests unless required for benefit of patient.

The duration of stay for cases of kidney disease is variable. In Vellore they will do their best to confirm a diagnosis and give required primary treatment. It all depends on the diagnosis made and if there is a need of long term treatment like regular dialysis. In that case you will have to search for a suitable arrangement in XXXXXXX for dialysis as recommended.

Cost of medical treatment is not fixed and easy to tell. However I feel the cost of treatment for a primary visit to Vellore might be in the rang of over Rs.50000 (rupees fifty thousands) and can go up to a lakh.

Travel and patient attender costs are extra. You may have to stay for a duration of 10 to 15 days.

The above information is an estimation and can differ from actual costs due to many variations. Please plan and have extra amount in case of emergency.

Hope your query is answered.
