Question: Hi my friend is 26 weeks pregnant her fetal weight is 800 gms but her gynaecologist says it is very less for this week can you give your suggestion and her hb level is 9.5 and tell me how much she should increase during her delivery and wat n all she should do to increase HB and is she need to take iv drips to increase hb

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. at 26 weeks pregnancy, fetal weight of 800 gms is perfectly normal. It is not at all decreased.
Hemoglobin of 9.5 is slightly less. She should have a hemoglobin level of at least 10 at the time of delivery. To increase Hb , she should have iron supplementation in form of tablets and have iron rich diet like green leafy vegetables, peanuts, chickpeas, and meat (if she is a non vegetarian).
There is absolutely no need of iv injections of iron to increase the hb levels, as it can be easily increased by oral tablets and iron rich diet.
