Elevated bilirubins

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical questions.

You are concerned that your bilirubin levels are elevated. There are numerous causes for elevated bilirubin from infection, liver disease, blood disorders or medications. Elevated bilirubin causes your skin to turn a yellow color as well as the white portions of your eyes o turn yellow too.

Since there are so many causes to elevated bilirubin and some can be serious I recommend that you seek medical attention. The exact cause of your elevation must be discovered. This can not be done over the internet and requires extensive and complete history taking by your doctor, lab tests and possible imaging tests too.

Please call you doctor and make an appointment to be seen as soon as possible
