Question: Hi,In year 2013 My father suffered mild heart attack. After performing Angiography,we found that his main artery is only 30%blocked.one minor is 70% blocked n 3rd one is 100%.Doctor suggested that he should stay on medications n der is no need for stent etc
The latest EF is 56% .. He is on following medicines:
Morning: Nitrofix20,Benipeck 4.5,Carca 12.5
Noon:1/2 lasix,Livogen
Afternoon:Losar50
Evening: Nitrofix20
Post Dinner: Deplatt A, Benipeck 4.5, Carca12.5, Orvas20
Recently we have shifted to new location and doctor over der told to replace deplatt A 75 to only Deplatt as he said that at 75 years of age double dose is not required.
.
We are taking only deplatt since last wednesday.
Request you to please let us know will there be any harm for stopping ecosprin part suddenly
and are there any blood tests to check for the correct dosage.

Brief Answer:

He made a right change

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

After going through the medical details I can very well understand your concern and I would like to tell you that the decision which your new doctor has taken is appropriate as at the age of 75 dual antiplatelet therapy has a high risk of bleeding.

And if no angioplasty has been done in the patient, continuing with just deplatt will be sufficient.

No there is no test required or available to confirm this decision. It’s a standard protocol which medical science teaches us.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
