Question: what is the best number for kidneys, mine is 6.1 is this bad and what can I do to make it better

Hi welcome to Health care magic,

I think you mean serum creatinine. If correct then it is high, and needs referral to a kidney specialist, since it indicates kidney damage. Normal should not exceed 1.5.

We must understand if it is Pre-renal or renal.
Pre-renal means there is kidney damage due to sudden dehydration, and this usually comes to normal on fluid correction.
But if it is renal, it may be again acute or chronic.

Acute damage to kidney (acute glomerulo nephritis).can in some cases be reversible. But chronic damage due to say Diabetes or high blood pressure is progressive. Treating the cause is essential.
