Is Chest Pain Along With Soreness In The Shoulder After A Fall Something To Be Monitored?

Question: I took a fall in my home over the weekend and fell on my chest, cushioned by my left arm. My left arm is fine, not even sore except for my should is a tiny bit sore. I am wondering what might indicate a need to have my chest looked at; a little painful when I breathe but I can breathe normal easily--deep breath is a bit uncomfortable.

Brief Answer:
Worsening pain and breathing difficulty...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

From what I understand, there was no direct impact on the trunk (chest and abdomen). The left arm cushioned most of the chest as you fell.
With these circumstances, chances of internal injuries are less likely. If there was a fracture or broken ribs you would have sensed it by now.

I will suggest you to continue icing the affected area as well as ibuprofen twice a day.

Though I will encourage you to get this looked at as and when possible. But if you aren't able to see a doctor immediately, you may wait and observe at home. Watch for pain worsening, if it becomes more painful to breathe / cough or you experience dizziness, vomiting.

Hope this is clear. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
