Is Check Valve System Is Available For Treatment Of Caudel Regression Syndrome?

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Dec 2014
Question: I have a grandson with caudel regression syndrome.
At this time he walks, runs, as normal children do except he wears a diaper. He is 6 yr. old. He has a flush tube inserted in his intestine for daily flushing which takes 1 hr. He has visited Dr. Pen'a, Cinn. childrens Hosp.
Iam asking if a check valve of sorts can be installed above the flush tube to do 2 things. Decrease the flush time and prevent back flow to the stomach which makes him sick on occasion.

Brief Answer:
Check valve not available

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. I have gone through the problem. Unfortunately no such check valve system is available such that the flush time can be managed reasonably or to prevent back flow if the faecal matter. Had it been available, it would have increased the possibility of back flow. But let me mention that collection bags are available which can be set properly and the contents of the flush tube automatically get collected in it.
