Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that an isolated high blood pressure value is not indicative of uncontrolled blood pressure.

It could be related to physical activity or emotional stress ( anxiety), which activate the sympathetic nervous system, causing an increase of circulating adrenaline and noradrenaline.

Coming to this point, I would recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure values frequently during the day in the next week ( in sitting position after 10 minutes of total relax) and write them down.

If your blood pressure values are above 140/90 mm Hg most of the time, it could be indicative of high blood pressure.

In such case, you should consult with your doctor for a physical exam and some blood lab tests to exclude secondary causes of high blood pressure.

Meanwhile I recommend you to take some rest and take some deep breaths. Avoiding physical activity will help your blood pressure lower.

I would also advice some tips to help maintain a normal blood pressure value naturally:

- avoid caffeine and salt intake
- be active ( walking, aerobics, yoga, recreational sports, et.)
- loose some pounds if you are overweight.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask me again whenever you need!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
