default
Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2015
Question: I have bright red blood in my first piece of stool and on my Toilet paper for 2 days in a row. I have no hemorrhoid pain or any pain for that matter. I had a colonoscopy in March of 2015 found and removed 2 small polyps. and bi lateral hernia surgery in April 2015. what do you think it could be?

Brief Answer:
This is the symptom of hemorrhoids.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

As you have had colonoscopy done, you are safe and should not be worried about colon cancer.
Symptoms mentioned by you are very characteristic for hemorrhoids. It is very common that hemorrhoids can not be felt or seen from the outside. Hemorrhoids do not give pain unless there is no inflammation or thrombosis. Bright red blood is the only symptom you may notice especially when passing hard stool.

I suggest you to improve your diet. Start probiotic and fiber intake and do not push hard on stool. This should make the stool soft so the hemorrhoids wont be injured.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
