You should avoid drinking alcohol while you are taking a steroid (Methylprednisone ).

Alchohol and steroids ,both are irritative for gastrointestinal mucosa.They can cause some problems for your stomach if taken together like gastritis or gastrointestinal ulcers.
Alcohol also increases the risk of pancreatitis and it may increase the level of sugar in your blood ,if it is taken with Methylprednisone.

So the answer is that you should avoid drinking alcohol until you finish your treatment.This is not absolute because if we are talking one or two social drinks 1-2 times a week, it won't be a problem but drinking alcohol daily while you are taking this medication is a bad idea.

As I said drinking 1-2 alcoholic drinks once a week won't cause any problem but 6-12 alcoholic drinks in one day is too much.

Since it is a special event you may drink up to 2-3 alcoholic drinks but drinking too much might cause you stomach problems.
You are taking a strong steroid so be careful and don't drink large quantities of alcohol (6-12 drinks are too much).
You can have fun even if you drink less then 6-12 drinks.Remember that health is more important.
