Is Accidental Ingestion Of Carprofen A Cause Of Concern?
Question: I accidentally injested 25mg of Carprofen that my dog takes. I took it along with a my blood pressure, cholesterol and antidepressant pills all at once. I'm I going to be okay?
Brief Answer:
was previously used at much higher doses in humans
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
You should be fine. Carprofen used to be used in humans from approx 1988 to 1998. It was used in 150 mg to 600 mg doses, a lot higher than the dose that you would have accidentally used.
It was discontinued for commercial reasons possibly meaning that the drug company was not getting enough sales.
Since it was used at much higher doses in humans, then the 25 mg dose that was used, would not have any effect on you.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
