Is A Negative HIV Test Result Conclusive At 70 Days Post Exposure?

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Feb 2017
Question: Dear Doctor, this is a followup question which you replied a month ago:
I had an condom protected vaginal sex with an unknown CSW 39 days ago. On 39 Days, got tested and results were for HIV 1/2 antibody + p24 (CLIA) non reactive. RPR non reactive (carbon flocculation), TPHA negative, HBsAG surface antigen (CLIA), Hepatitis C non reactive (CLIA), Herpes IgG for both 1 and 2 non reactive (CLIA). Just before the test was taking levofloxacin and loratidine for some acute ear infection.
Now yesterday at 70 days (10 week), I checked HIV, HBsAG and and Hepatitis C by Immunochormatography method, which came back negative too.
What would be your comment about the entire thing. Any herpes will test after 12 weeks. Does rubbing of breast and tummy is a risk factor STD with naked hand?

Brief Answer:
You are almost free from HIV infection and STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Rubbing the Penis against breast and abdomen skin has no risk for HIV infection and STD.
Your non-reactive tests for HIV and STD by 70 days after the exposure almost ruled out the possibility of both HIV infection and STD. But I can't say that it is 100 % conclusive. Nonreactive tests 90 days after the exposure can be considered conclusive.
