Question: Doctor, Can I have someone come to my home and give me a glycerin suppository and a hot water soapsuds enema for a good enema cleanse and constipation. I'm an 80 year old female, live alone, and need a little help walking. I would like to have this procedure done for a couple of months so I don't get backed up. T/Y

Brief Answer:
Yes, no hospital stay required.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, this can be done at home and doesn't require any hospital stay as long as the person doing it, ideally, has had the experience of doing it. A nurse would be the ideal person to do it or provide guidance under supervision.

Please consult your doctor before deciding on any further course of action.

Hope I have answered your query. Wishing you best of health.

Thank you.
