Is A P 24 HIV 1 And 2 Test Conclusive At 70 Days Post Exposure?
Question: male 32 1 min unprotected penetration but no ejacualtion in vagina not with commercial sex worker but with maid servant . after that had unprotected sex with gf but did not exaculate post 18 days i did immuno cromotography test ( negative) post 21 days hiv 1 and hiv 2 p24 ( negative ) post 24 days hiv 1 and hiv 2 p24 ( negative) post 24 days pcr viral load came after two days saying target no detected . post 33 days days hiv 1 and hiv 2 p24 negative post 40 days western blot negative for both hiv 1 and hiv 2 but ( p51,p55, p 66 detected this is confusing ) .post 42 days hiv 1 and hiv 2 p24 negative .girl friend test after 30 days hiv and hiv 2 p24 negative .i have autoimmune hepatits ( take prednisolone 5 mg and immuron 50 mg since 1994 ) and HBV ( blood transfusion for which i am on tenvir 300 mg for 4 years) did LFT test post exosure results were good !!
on 68 or 69 day did western blot which came out negative ( this time no bands detected all negative ) , 70 days day did p24 hiv1 and hiv 2 negative !! today 74 day i did pcr rna waiting for result !! plez help

Thanks for posting your query.
First of all why you had numerous tests for HIV?
Your servant maid would not have HIV infection at all. Then where is the question of HIV for you? Your girl friend also tested negative for HIV combo test.
HIV 1 and 2 / P 24 Antigen test negative after 24, 33,42 and 70 days after high risk contact along with undetectable viral load with RNA PCR test on 24 days clearly ruled out HIV 1 infection (which is prevalent more than 99.5% everywhere in the world except in certain parts of Africa). Antibody part of the Combo test and western blot and immuno-Chromatography test become more conclusive after 12 weeks.
In your case as you are on steroids and Tenvir it may get delayed still more.
At the same time Tenvir 300 mg tablets taken by you, have effect to abort HIV 1 and 2 infection, if any, infection have occurred to you during that exposure as it has anti-retroviral effect both on HIV 1 and 2.
So there is no chance for you get HIV infection.
