Is Tylenol Safe To Take While On Metformin?

Question: My lady takes Metformin and Atenolol and her doctor said that it was okay to take Tylenol for pain. Is it okay to take Tylenol PM instead of just Tylenoll?

There is no adverse interaction between Metformin, Atenolol and Tylenol PM.
Tylenol PM contains a sedating antihistamine Diphenhydramine in addition to Tylenol and this may make her sleepy.
So take care of that and she should do anything that can cause harm to herself or others because of the sedation that may be present.
