Brief Answer:
Normal T4/t3 but high anti TPO antibody levels

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
I had answered a similar question few minutes ago. Noted that you have high Anti TPO antibody, but with normal T3 and T4. What about TSH? Is it normal too? If TSH, T4 and T3 are normal, and if Anti TPO is high, it still indicate auto immunity against thyroid tissues. If the antibody is high there is about 50% chances of you developing hypothyroidism ( under active thyroid) in the future. Some doctors and researchers believe that selenium helps in reducing anti TPO antibody levels. You may take a multivitamin containing 100mcg selenium for few months and recheck anti TPO antibody levels.

Yes the TSH was normal as well. What if the TPO suppose to be? I just needed to know if 540 is considered extremely high. Can you have symptoms of hypo or hyper with the antibodies being out of range? I sweat all the time and have anxiety. Didn't know if that was due to the autoimmune or just job stress. Thanks for helping answer any questions!

Brief Answer:
Anti TPO alone will not cause symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi, sorry for the delay.
If TSH and Free T4 are normal, not to worry even if Anti TPO is high. Normally in lab, our upper cut off of anti TPO is 60. Anything above it, we consider high. 540 is high, but there is nothing dangerous about it. It just shows that you have an auto immune process against thyroid cells. As long as TSH and Free T4 are normal, not to worry. You can not have symptoms of hyper or hypothyroidism with only anti TPO being high ( if TSH and Free T4 are normal). If you sweat a lot, it may be good to get an FSH test on the second or third day of your next menstrual periods in the morning. If it is high, it may be an indication of peri menopausal status which can cause sweating too.
As I mentioned earlier, few studies have shown that Selenium helps to reduce anti TPO levels.
