Is Phenoxymethylpencillin The Right Medicine For Sore Throat?

Question: My daughter was prescribed Phenoxymethyl Penicillin 250mg for a sore throat. She has been taking them Saturday morning but it still seems to be getting worse, white spots appearing. At what point would you expect the antibiotics to kick in and start things improving?
