Is Nortriptyline The Right Medicine For Bowel Obstruction?

Question: I had two severe seizures while taking amatriptylin. The drug was prescribed for neurothapy due to bowel obstructions. My gastroenterologist now wants me to take nortriptylin. Is not this drug in the same family?
