Brief Answer: Follow up with the doctor with 2D ECHO scan Detailed Answer: Mild Mitral Regurgitation ( MR) can be an incidental finding in many routine tests that people undergo. We find in pregnant woman, anemic, chronic kidney disease etc. So a cardiologist will investigate it further if there is any underlying problem related to MR. If no, you just need to monitor it with yearly 2D ECHO scan as part of your annual physicals. Suppose there is any underlying cause the treatment depends on the cause. Hope this answers.

I understand but if there is no underlying cause ,and its just mild MR is it still classed as heart disease, and im quite concerend that my holter monitor showed 1 artrial premature beat,1 supraventricular beat and the venticular couplet really worries me,could the MR be causing this

Brief Answer: Just MR without obvious heart disease is non worry Detailed Answer: Hi If you have mild MR without any obvious heart disease detected should not be worrisome. It is also important to know why was the holter monitoring done by your doctor. It is just to rule out suspicion or if there is clinical or imaging abnormality in the heart. Mild MR would not lead to enlarged atrium and ventricles. If the chambers are not enlarged the premature beats should not be a major problem for Cardiologists. Hope this answers.

Brief Answer: Definitely non worrying as you thought to be Detailed Answer: The problem is not of that magnitude that you thought it to be. You can really lead a normal life and carry out your family affairs as regularly as you are currently doing. The anxiety and stress that you undergo without any confirmation of underlying disorder will worsen the situation more than the ventricular couplet beats. Relax, at this moment I suggest you to catch some sleep, meditate and try to push appointment earlier. If it reaches a stage where you cannot handle the symptoms you should visit ER.

I kewp telling myself to calm down but my brain wont listen and is working overtime.i have this tightness feeling in my chest through to my back like trapped wind, have the feeling i need to burp all the time with like hunger pains and a feeling of an empty stomach,is this the anxiety that is causing this
doctor
Answered by Dr. Chakravarthy Mazumdar (3 hours later)
Brief Answer: Yes anxiety causes it. Detailed Answer: Stay cool, breathe slow into an empty bag. That is a better way to relax. I do not wish to scare you. I generally my patients a shot of IV midazolam and sedate them. This avoids untoward consequences. If you are panicky, please get this at ER.
