If you are a known diabetic, then your HbA1c should be less than 7%, this is the goal for diabetics.
Your medication would need to be slightly altered to try and decrease the value.

If this test was done to determine if you are diabetic , diabetes is diagnosed when the value is greater than 6.5%.
This value of 7.2 would diagnose you as a diabetic and treatment would be started.
This would include diet changes and possibly medication if the diet changes are not enough.

Your value of 7.2, is high but not dangerously so.
