Brief Answer:
About blood glucose ranges:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!

Fasting, postprandial blood glucose ( in 2 measurements) and HbA1C, all of them should be taken into consideration to judge about pre diabetes or Diabetes.

If fasting blood sugar is high and HbA1c is normal, it means that there are moments during the day when the blood sugar is lower than normal ( hypoglycemia) and HbA1c results normal.

There are also cases with normal fasting blood sugar but high HbA1C. It means that postprandial may be high.

That is why all of them should be taken into consideration.

In your case, 5.6 is the upper normal range and HbA1C is normal.

Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
