Your son has developed alopecia areata which is progressing .
Although alopecia areata is a common problem, but the treatment options in children are very limited.
You have been rightly prescribed levamisole which is an effective agent for this problem.
In most cases of alopecia areata, regrowth of hair occurs by itself in few weeks to months . So very aggressive treatment is not required ,especially in young children.
I would suggest that you should take the medicines as advised by your doctor .
Since hair regrowth is a slow process, it might take sometime before results are evident but you can continue with the treatment as advised.
