Is Erythrocin Intake Safe On Stomach?

Question: hello, I have been to the dentist today and had a very difficult extraction. I have been put on erythrocin and was wondering if it is hard on the stomach and is it ok to take nexium with it. Also am going to visit a friend at the w/e and was wondering would it be ok to have a couple of glasses of wine over a meal while on the antibiotic ...thanks.

Thank you for the query.

Eyrhtocin contains an antibiotic (Erythromycin) witch is metabolized by the liver. Same as the alcohol is (however by different enzymes). So it is not a good idea to drink any alcohol during the therapy.
Nexium is a medicine which blocks stomach acid secretion. And erythrocin does not cause any acid related stomach problems. So Nexium is not a good idea either.
Instead if Nexium, to protect your digestive tract you should take probiotic.
