Question: I have a fear of chemicals lately and would like to know your opinion on Clorox brand Greenworks plant based natural products for cleaning. They say they are very safe and you don't have to wash your hands after using the products but they recommend it. There is still 1% of some chemicals in the product. I would like your opinion on how safe and non-toxic these products are.

Brief Answer:
Safety of natural products for cleaning

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Clorox brand Greenworks plant based natural products for cleaning contains:
citric acid:This corn-based ingredient reduces minerals to soften hard water and help naturally derived cleaning ingredients work harder.
Fragrance with essential oils:synthetic fragrances with oils extracted from plants that leave behind a clean, fresh scent.
Hydrogen peroxide:This oxygen-based bleaching agent is like a water molecule plus an extra oxygen atom. It does not contain chlorine bleach .
Sodium lauryl sulfate:Derived from plants works to dissolve and remove dirt, oil and grease
1% chemicals in the product is attributed to synthetic ingredients including a preservative and green coloring .
Hence it is not without potential adverse effects on health.

Brief Answer:
Clorox brand Greenworks & its ingredients

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Plant-based ingredients included in some green cleaners can cause allergic dermatitis.
SLES (sodium lauryl ether sulfate) is an irritant like many other detergents, with the irritation increasing with concentration. It has also been shown that SLES causes eye or skin irritation in experiments done on animals and humans.
SLES (sodium lauryl ether sulfate or Sodium lauryl sulfate )is not a carcinogen.
However some products containing SLES have been found to also contain traces (up to 279 ppm) of 1,4-dioxane.The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency classifies 1,4-dioxane to be a probable human carcinogen.
Hence you can easily draw your conclusion.
