It is safe to take safflower. I will advise that you prefer the oral formulation over the injectable one. Side effects to watch out for are increased blood sugar, increased bleeding tendency and possible allergy. If you are diabetic or on blood thinners, you may want to talk to your doctor before using it. Also, avoid using it prior to surgery.
