Brief Answer:
Benecol is for reducing cholesterol levels

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Benecol is used to treat high cholesterol, it contains plant stanols which help to lower cholesterol levels.
It is not used to treat high blood pressure

There is blood pressure medication with a similar name called benicar. It is in the family of drugs called ARB (angiotensin receptor blocker). It decreases blood pressure in different ways- helps the body lose extra sodium, helps blood vessels to relax

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
