Taking atorvastatin in combination of aspirin would be equally effective as the medicines taken separately. It is not going to affect the potency. It just reduces the number of pills you have to swallow.

It is generally taken at night. The effectivity of both morning dose and the night dose are the same. But a night dose in full stomach lowers the chances of gastritis which can be caused by aspirin.
