Is Amitriptyline Effective In Treatment For Tightness And Heaviness In Head?
Question: Can amitriptyline help with severe tightness and heaviness in your head and also help with brain fog as having trouble with memory and feel like my head is not here at all, by taking this drug will it eventually help?

So my pain i.e tightness and heaviness and the brain fog is all to do with depression/anxiety if it is then you think by taking amitriptyline will help eventually, i have just started taking this in the last 4 to 5 days, so how long will it take to work and start helping with these symptoms?

perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my first answer. I can't say whether you have depression or not. I was only pointing out that amitriptyline may only help you if you do have depression. I could not diagnose depression by reading a short description. The diagnosis needs a more thorough approach, including an investigation process to exclude other potential causes of your symptoms. A psychiatrist is the right doctor to diagnose depression AFTER your primary care physician excludes other causes.
Regarding the time required to see improvement, it depends but it won't be that fast. Most of the times at least 3-4 weeks are required to observe substantial changes.
