Question: I’m trying to determine if skin reaction is allergy or something else. I definitely had a reaction to some deodorant however now I am itchy everywhere and worried it’s also scabies because I had been helping with a dog who I was told had the other kind of mange (though that was not confirmed.)

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

It would be advisable to upload a photo of the rash on reports for me in order that I can evaluate it.
Scabies is not transmitted from dogs to humans so I think this can't be scabies.
Scabies has extreme itching and erosive elements because of severe scratching. So most probably it can be an allergic reaction to deodorants.
Using antihistamines such citerizine or benadryl will improve itching.
Hydrocortisone cream will help you reduce rash.
If the respiration is affected you should go to ER because prednisolone and adrenaline may be needed.

Hope I have answered the question.
