Question: Im scheduled for an MRI of my prostate, for enlarged ,urgent and frequent urination and my PSA has risen from 4.0 to 7.0 in three years. I have been diagnosed with prostatitis, Within the past three weeks, I have developed a pain in my left lower abdomen, and descending down to my left testicle. Pains come and go, and are getting more severe as time goes on . QUESTION.... Will the MRI reveal an Incarcerated or Strangulated hernia if in fact that could be the cause?

Brief Answer:
MRI will reveal Incarcinated or Strangulated Hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted you have been scheduled to undergo MRI as your PSA has increased to 7 which could be either due to infection of Prostate or Cancer of the prostate .

MRI is very sensitive test and can detect Incarcerated or Strangulate hernia .However occasional mild pain without vomiting and other alarming symptoms rule out possibility of these conditions.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
