Question: I'm a 43 year old XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Male, that has a history of Hypertension and PTSD with Panic Attacks. I've had a vein ligation done via the V.A., and currently have a Baker's Cyst behind my right knee. I've had Neck Pain, and a discomfort in my chest for the past 2 weeks. Last week I was able to run 2 miles x 3 days without any discomfort or pain, which would be attributed to me being out of shape sum (5'6 and 170), but very active. I went to the ER Wednesday night with an overwhelming feeling of Anxiety in my chest. An ECG was done, which came back abnormal. My chest Xray came back normal with an elevated right hemidiaphragm. They conducted a CT w/ iodine, which I was told came back normal. My question what would cause me to have an elevated D-Dimer (1147 >=500). Do I need to seek an immediate second opinion? I do travel on a plane weekly, and this is the concern about PE, DVT or AAD. In the past I was diagnosed with superficial Thrombolitis, which was the cause for the vein ligation.
