Question: I%E2%80%99m presently on 10 mg of Lexapro and 300 mg of flecainide. I just found out that there is an interaction between the two medications, can I go off the Lexapro? I%E2%80%99m taking Lexapro for sleep.

Lexapro is an antidepressant and generally indicated for anxiety and depression. In case there is insomnia is only problem (not associated with anxiety or depression) I do not think lexapro should be the first choice for sleep problem.

There are other agents which can be used for sleep such as zolpidem, zopiclone, suvorexant among others. They are exclusively mean for sleep and should be used as primary agents in case of isolated sleep disturbance.

In case there are other symptoms, in association to sleep disturbance, lexapro need to be replaced with similar kind of medications such as mirtazepine.
