I Started Taking Onitraz 100mg Twice Daily Medicine For Two
Question: I started taking onitraz 100mg twice daily medicine for two days .
After taking medicine i felt sleepy and and couldnt woke up on time for office .
In day time when i took it , i felt sleepiness in office .
Sleepiness is one problem.
Secondly , i felt little discomfort in my right abdomen area when i woke up after taking this medicine in night.
i felt it for continously two days .
Thirdly , one of my colleqeague told me that he had taken this onitraz 100 mg and it caused problem in his Liver and unbalanced its normal liver tests results.
So after taking this medicine for 2 days , i left it , so please help me with these problems

Thr drowsiness is most likely due to the oral antihistamine, hydroxyzine that was also recommended for itching rather than due to itraconazole. You may substitute hydroxyzine with fexofenadine 120mg, once a day. Fexofenadine is not sedating.
Itraconazole is an effective as well as safe medicine for fungal infection. Though it can cause deranged LFTs if taken unsupervised for long duration usually in more than the recommended doses. Some patients self medicate and land uo with these issues.
So, in my view you can consider doing an LFT and if that comes out to be normal, you may restart itraconazole as prescribed by the doctor for the recommended duration and right doses.

I have some queries
1. What would be duration of my oral medication course ? Is it 8 weeks as prescribed or less or I have to check my LFT test results after half course and see if its come out to be normal ?
2. Would my doses be reduced after sometime ?
3. Can i apply soap to affected area while bathing ?
4. I dont have itching problem now and in the past also it was very bearable , so can i avoid Anitihistamine ?
