I Have Written A Few Times Here Regarding Lower Abdominal

Question: I have written a few times here regarding lower abdominal cramping or cutting type pains and stomach bloating. I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago and two internal hemorrhoids were banded, but he said everything else looked good and no polyps were found. I asked the doctor about these abdominal cramping and bloating symptoms I have had a few months before the colonoscopy and still currently and he was not sure what it could be. I had to go to ER the same day as I had the colonoscopy due to severe pressure in my sides that took me to the ground. After they ran my bloodwork and a CT scan of my abdomen area they said nothing was found except my lactic acid levels being higher than normal and my WBC count was 11.9. They said my pains could be related to the colonoscopy or anesthesia. They asked if I had my gallbladder checked and I said no and that I still had it. Monday night I had chex mix food and mexican food around 630pm and right afterwards the severe abdominal cramping, bloating, overall stomach tenderness, and some back pain as well. I could not sleep well still after drinking pepto bismol and taking a peppermint pill. This pain comes and goes and it seems after certain foods it arises for most of a day. Does a gluten or lactose allergy sound like a possibility, IBS, or maybe a gallbladder problem? If so, what tests could I ask my doctor for to rule out gallbladder? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Sounds more like gallbladder issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your details.
As the pain is related directly to meals possibility of it being associated with gallbladder pathology are more compared to any allergy.
Bloating abdominal tenderness etc are most common symptoms of gallbladder pathology.
As CT scan has already been done your doctor should now go for a HIDA scan to know about the functioning of gallbladder. The amount of bile secreted as a result of food intake ejection fraction etc.
A HIDA scan would be good for you right now.
Increase in lactic acid is due to pain. Whenever a person is in pain or anxiety the level of lactic acid increases and body loses its alkalinity.

I would suggest you to talk to your doctor about performing HIDA scan.
Revert back after discussing with your doctor.
Hope I was helpful,
Thank you.

Ok I will ask my doctor about this Wednesday the 17th during my appointment. Can a gallbladder issue cause some shortness of breath at all? I had a stress test about 5 months ago and they said it looked fine and just on lisinopril 10mg for a bit a high blood pressure. My pulse is fine, but have not checked BP without a monitor here. I get some back pain that comes and goes as well too. I went into urgent care earlier and they said my liver, enzymes and bloodwork looked fine. I am not sure if they ran any tests on my heart in terms of bloodwork.

Brief Answer:
Few tests are required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
No but shortness of breath can be cause by severe reflux disease.
Lisinopril is ACE inhibitor and dry cough which may be associated with a feeling of SOB is one of it's most common side effect.
Try shifting from Lisinopril to amlodipine 5 mg once and see if the problem settles down.
For SOB there are two most essential tests
1)2d echo- To look for the functions of heart. If ppingbis ok and all walls and valves are functioning well.
2)Pulmonary function test or Spirometry to look for functions of lung.
Hopanswered your query well.
