Brief Answer:
Hernia? Lymph node? Inflammation? Muscle strain?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

discomfort in the groin area is usually caused by any of the disorders mentioned in the title. A hernia is usually palpable and sometimes protrudes beyond the abdominal wall. A lymph node should be palpable as a pea-shaped object right under the skin. Inflammation is usually evident because of the pain, redness and warmth it causes to the relevant tissues. Finally, a muscle strain will usually ache when you move the affected body part.

Hernias and muscle strains in this area are usually long-standing conditions. If you'd like to be sure you'll have to visit your doctor for a clinical examination. Sometimes various tests may be required, like an ultrasound scan or blood tests - depending on the suspected disorder.

I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I feel like it’s a fungi infection. Without any movement it itches and can be very discomforting. But the fungi/bacteria cream I apply to it is probably not effective. So I was thinking if there is a more effective cream/drug that can be recommended that totally eradicates fungi that survives under the private part. The both sides of my thighs under my groin itch continuously and as well as underneath my scrotum bag. This has been happening for up to 7 months and I apply “ funbact A cream” to ease this itching. Please is there any medication that can be used for this problem

Brief Answer:
it should be diagnosed first!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
thanks for the additional information. Since it itches, it could be either a fungal infection or eczema (skin inflammation). You'd better be sure before treatment is commenced because the treatment options may be completely different. For example, eczema requires treatment with corticosteroids which may worsen a fungal infection. A dermatologist should be able to distinguish between an infection and dermatitis. Since creams have not been effective in your case, perhaps pills should be used, but make sure you get a diagnosis first!
