Question: I have the left knee that is osteoarthritic. There is a large sweeling below that knee that appears to be filled with fluid. The right knee is extremely painful

you did not mentioned your age and your comorbitities if any.
There is need of your xrays to guide you properly,just get your xrays bilateral knee ap and lateral view in standing position.
use knee cap,avoid squating and sitting on floor.
apply hot pack,use diclofenac gel,use over the counter pain killers.
please share your xray once you got them.
