Question: I have one swollen preaurcullar lymph node It's been a little more than a month of inflamation. Warmth around the ear a little bit, but not much. Mostly dull aching/pressure. No fever, it has been the same size for the entire time. Has not gotten bigger but did get smaller for a day.

Brief Answer:
Get investigations done to find appropriate cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
I would advise you the following in such a case:
- A course of an anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days and see if this helps.
- If this does not help[ then the way is to get Ultrasound of the affected area and USG guided FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) to give the exact diagnosis as to what is the swelling and what is the cause of swelling.
- Relevant tests of blood as per the clinical evaluation and investigations.
- Getting a proper diagnosis as to the cause of swelling is most important to have a specific management.

Please get these done and give the feedback.
Awaiting for your feedback.
