I Have Noticed A White Sore On My Genital Area.

Posted on Sat, 27 Apr 2019
Question: I have noticed a white sore on my genital area. After 5 days it had increased. I have attached a picture. I have had intercourse with my long time partner and she had some infection shown 3 days earlier than my symptoms. We were traveling and we were in Dubai where the hotel we have stayed was not the cleanest. I am not sure if we could have caught a bacteria.

Brief Answer:
may be chancre sore. Require further confirmation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and attached image. Here is my advice.

As per your history, it may be chancre sore i.e one of the bacterial sexually transmitted infection.

Please let me know do you have fever, penile discharge, itching, burning micturition? Whether these sores are painful or painless?

To confirm diagnosis, I would suggest you to do blood investigations including complete haemogram, RPR test, urine culture sensitivity and sore discharge testing after detailed medical examination and physician's opinion.

Till then, you can apply hydrocortisone ointment locally three times a day. In case of pain, you can take tab. acetaminophen (tylenol) 500 mg every 6 hourly.

Let me know I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale.

I confirm that there's no fever, no itchiness, no discharge and no pain. Itchiness was slight the first 2 days. Yesterday I started to develop strep throat. And I have 1 ulcer on my inner lip. I'm guessing it is related. Currently I'm still on my travel and won't be back home for another 10 days. I actually have aumentin, antibiotic with me. Do you recommend taking them?

Hello,

Thank you for reply.

As per your history, painless sore may be chancre sores. Kindly do investigations as mentioned in previous answer after physician opinion.

For strep throat you can take tab. augmentin 625 mg two times a day. You can apply zytee gel locally over ulcer. Do saline or betadine gargles two times a day.

Let me know I can assist you further.
