default
Posted on Sun, 6 Oct 2019
Question: I have lower back pain right at the base as well as these severe pains in my sides under my ribs when i wake up in the morning. I feel tired a lot of the time. I have had a colonoscopy and waiting for biopsy results but nothing serious when they looked. I have a 4cm sliding hiatus hernia. I have had blood tests and nothing serious has shown. I have also had a head CT scan, heart ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound but nothing showed on these. I have high anxiety and autism as well as CFS. I am very worried about these pains as they can be severe. I am worried i will die.

Brief Answer:
Don't worry.... Consult with spine surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, it may be due to muscle sprain which should get evaluated.

Please let me know do you have numbness in lower limbs, history of injury?

For further assessment, I would suggest you to consult with spine surgeon for detailed clinical examination. He may procure MRI back, nerve conduction studies as per evaluation to rule out nerve compression at lumbar spine level.

Mean while, for pain you can take tablet motrin. You can apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally. Heating pads will also help. You may require physical therapy after physiotherapist consultation.

Along with that, avoid hot and spicy foods. Do regular follow up with gastroenterologist. You may require short course of alprazolam after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further...
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
