I Have Been Treated By 3 Different Psychiatrists In The

Question: I have been treated by 3 different psychiatrists in the last 20 years. Some meds have helped me feel much better and helped me to move on without them. Mostly, within the last 10 years, there has not been a drug combination that helps me feel anything like XXXXXXX or excitement, not to mention any energy or interest in things I used to enjoy.
I have recently become concerned with the drug combination because something is making me shake, gain incredible amounts of weight and want to drink alcohol all day long with a very strong need for it. I quit smoking 15 years ago and have not had cravings as strong as I do right now for cigarettes. I can also fall asleep sitting up at my computer at work. I am 54-years-old.
Anyway, the drugs I take are, Effexor XR (2-150mg caps 1 x day), vraylar (1.5mg capsule-1 x a day), Ritalin LA (40 mg capsule 1 x per day) and Clonazepam ( 1 .5mg tablet up to 4 x a day).

Brief Answer:
We can supplement the drugs with other drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service

I can understand your problem. Lack of interest or XXXXXXX poor energy or fatigue etc are symptoms of depression only. You are on Effexor, Vraylar, Ritalin and still the symptoms are persisting. If the drugs are not resulting in improvement then augmentation can be done with other drugs.

Low dose antipsychotic drugs like Olanzapine or Risperidone can be done. Augmentation with Bupropion can be one option. Bupropion will help to increase antidepressant action and will also help in reducing symptoms like fatigue, tiredness or low motivation. Ritalin already is doing work but addition of Bupropion will further potentiate the actions.

You can talk with your doctor for these medicines.

Thanks and Take care.
