Question: I have been experiencing severe abdominal discomfort unusual from my regular pain. (I have severe endometriosis)

I suspected I could be pregnant and have taken four tests. Two showed up as negative and the other two showed a very faint positive line. I am on medication called vissane that could cause complications with this so I am just wondering what I should do going forward. I am away from home for a month and don't have a family doctor where I am

Brief Answer:
ENDOMETRIOSIS

Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

Visanne is an oral progestin that suppress estrogen production which is primarily responsible for the symptoms of endometriosis.
Therefore Visanne finds a prime place in the management of endometriosis however it wasn't created as an oral contraceptive.

During the drug treatment, fertility is lowered as ovulation is suppressed.

Endometriosis may cause infertility and a reduction of endometriosis lesions may improve fertility on the long run.

During the Visanne treatment, the patient needs to use additional contraception.

As your pregnancy test is weekly positive hence the possibility of a uterine or extrauterine (ectopic)pregnancy is not ruled out.

You need a detailed gynaecological examination, abdominal ultrasound scan and tests for HCG levels.

I suggest you to visit an available clinician immediately.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
ENDOMETRIOSIS

Detailed Answer:
For your pain....

1)You should apply heat. A hot water bottle can be placed on the lower abdomen.
2)Pelvic massage.
3)Over-the-counter NSAID pain relievers LIKE Paracetamol and Ibuprofen can help.

Once you are comfortable, you can visit your clinician.

If the pain persists or escalates, you should report to ER immediately.
