Brief Answer:
Can be due to gum infection or tooth decay

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

Dental problems can never be cured with only antibiotics and rather needs a proper treatment. As per your history, your tooth might need a root canal treatment or extraction if the abscess is due to tooth decay. Alternatively, if the abscess is due to gum infection then it needs deep subgingival cleaning and root planing. Please provide me the IOPAR x-ray to rule out the type of abscess and any other clinical findings given by your dentist.
In the meantime, you can do warm saline rinses and it will help.

Wishing you a good health
Thanks
Kind Regards
