Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I think that you have a pain in the chest. I would need you to describe it in further detail:
* Can you pin point to the exact location? Or is it over an area? Describe it.
* The nature of pain, whether it is continuously present throughout the day or whether it occurs intermittently? Long long has the pain been there? Any aggravating or relieving factors?
* Anything else that you wish me to know?
Based on your inputs I would guide you further.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Could be due to other reasons as well. Could be due to GERD.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Lungs are internal organs and there is no way you can identify the internal organ like that. I acknowledge that you have a pain of the chest (where the lungs are also located). If it had actually involved the lung, you would probably have complained about respiratory distress and increased rate of breathing as well. Unless that is the case, the pain could be due to gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) (pain in the food pipe). Pain in right side of the chest is typically and frequently seen in case of GERD.
If that is the case, the following steps should help:
* Take omeprazole once daily before breakfast. You may also try normaxin or antacids for symptomatic relief.
* Avoid spicy food. Take small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps between meals.
* Avoid alcohol intake (if it a part of your habit).
* Pain medication of NSAID category would only make pain of gastritis worse. If you are to take, take paracetamol or acetaminophen.
* Take plenty of green leafy vegetables as well as other sources of dietary fibers. Take fiber supplements like isabgol/psyllium husk or senna. Rather than taking laxatives, I would insist you to increase your dietary fibre intake.
A clinical examination is essential and I would insist you to visit a doctor for the same.
