Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

Pain in the knee on climbing uupstairs could be due to patella cartilage disorder or osteoarthritis.

Have you done an xray of the knee?

Is it involving one or both knees?

Chondromalacia patellae can cause patella cartilage disorder and pain on sitting on chair and getting up or climbing upstairs.

Do get an xray of the knee of please share the xray for my review.

Thanks and regards,

Aashish Raghu
