I Have A Pain Behind My Right Breast. I Don

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Feb 2019
Question: I have a pain behind my right breast. I don't think it's my breast because I can move it in different ways but nothing helps. The pain is when I try to take a breath. So what is happening is shallow breathing, stiff neck to either direction. When evening comes I can't tell if my body is tired or maybe sitting to long but the pain turns to an unbearable ache.

Brief Answer:
Most probably costochondritis or muscle pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history well and understood your concerns.
Pain behind right breast, unrelated to breast movements, instigated on taking breathing and unbearable ache by evening is indicative of one of the following:
A condition called costochondritis.
Pleural and/or lung problems.

Please watch for the following:
Is there is local tenderness on pressing on the affected area, usually about one to two inches away from mid line?
Was there any attack of viral infection?
Stress and/or anxiety? Does it increase the pain?

It is also better to get an EKG and X-ray of chest.
Continue Tylenol at least 8 hourly and also take Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Do not do any exercises or such activities that instigate or enhance the pain.

I hope this answer helps you.
Please give feedback and ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
