I Have A Bladder Infection. Lower Abdomen Hurts, Frequent Urination
Question: I have a bladder infection. Lower abdomen hurts, frequent urination and headache and extremely tired. Patient First doc put me on Nitrofurantoin. I've taken 5 pills. Thurs.(2) Fri.(2) and this a.m. When can I start feeling better from pain. Thurs. pain was severe.
No pain upon urinating . No blood. Frequent urinating. Drinking lots of water.

Based on the facts that you have posted pain in lower abdomen with frequent urination that you have is mostly due to UTI.
Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Culture was taken at Patient First (neighborhood walk-in) Short culture was normal there
at clinic; however,
They sent urine out for a longer culture. I guess I should call them to see results.
